Project C3 • Optimized Polymer-Based Alignment Media for NMR Spectroscopy

Highly precise networks with defined mash distribution and specific, functional building blocks are synthesized applying modern polymer and ligation chemistry and subsequently utilized as reference gels to investigate the complex interactions of partially oriented samples. The findings will be used to optimize the NMR gels for measurements of anisotropic NMR parameters. In addition, the mechanical parameters of NMR gels will be improved to enable fast NMR sample preparation. Furthermore, selected functional groups incorporated into the gels will induce pseudo contact shifts and allow the distinction of enantiomers.
